Members of Boy Scout Troop 9 traveled to Asbury Hills during Happy Days Camp to make peach cobbler and homemade ice cream. It is always a great time watching the scouts in service for others. As the cobbler and ice cream were being prepared, a few of the campers asked the scouts if they could help with the preparation. When asked to line the Dutch Oven with aluminum foil, they were very glad to be able to help. As they came for the supplies, it was obvious how proud they were knowing they were helping with the preparation of the treats.
The scouts have helped with Happy Days Camp for over ten years. Every year I come away amazed how one simple act can change a person’s life and make the world a better place.
