Disaster Response

BSU Missions Newsworthy

Hundreds of families across more than half of South Carolina’s counties are still struggling to recover from damage caused by the floods of 2015 and Hurricane Matthew in 2016, and most recently from Hurricane Irma.

Volunteers and funds are needed to help respond to the needs of the families most affected in South Carolina and our surrounding neighbors. The SC Conference of the UMC offers a few options on how to help. Donations are always welcome, and you may donate directly by visiting the SC Conference website.

Volunteers will be needed to help with repairs working with the Disaster Recovery Ministries. Please email screcovery@umcsc.org for more information.

The SC Early Response Teams (SC ERT Disaster Response) are volunteers who are dedicated to showing the love of Jesus to others in the aftermath of a disaster. In order to volunteer to assist in relief efforts, you must be trained. Please see below more information about upcoming trainings or click this link for more information. If you are interested in ERT training, yet unable to attend one of the training opportunities listed below, please contact Mendi Knisley by email.
